I have heard that we are to stay away from cartoon pictures of Jesus when teaching the songs to the children. Is this correct and could you tell me where to go to see this in print. Thanks!

Several years ago I attended a regional meeting with members of the Primary General Board. One of the best meetings ever! At the time I was serving in the Presidency of our ward. One of the things they emphasized was that we were not to use cartoon pictures of Christ. They were concerned that the children would equate the cartoon to our Savior and not as a person. Since that meeting I have held to their counsel. I think it makes a difference. The children know that I respect our Savior because of it. There are many ways to still illustrate Christ. I tear apart old Church magazine, have pictures from old manuals, and have even printed images from www.lds.org. Good Luck!
