I've received one good idea on teaching "He Sent His Son" (using pictures with words about his life on back) through email...any other ideas on teaching this song? I'm just trying the message board!

I like using the question and answer format with this song. You can easily ask the question and then the next phrase answers the question. I love this song.

The last week of January, I taught them the last line only of “He Sent His Son.” I talked to them about Heavenly Father and that He has asked us to live like His Son.
Week one of February I plan on sharing the following scriptures with them: John 13:15, 3 Nephi 27:21, and Moroni 7:48 (these are the scriptures listed in the Children’s Song Book at the end of the song). Then I am only going to teach them the line “What does the Father ask of us? What do the scriptures say? Have faith, have hope, live like His son. Help others on their way.” Then they already know the last line of the song from the week before. Week two I with share the scripture Jon 3:16 with them and tie the rest of the song into that scripture. Then I will teach them the rest of the song (no pictures yet). Week three I will be playing a game of singing the question and answer from different classes or sides of the room. Week four will be a review of the whole song. Also on week four I will be letting them sing the chorus only of “Follow the Prophet” as they hold a picture of President Thomas S. Monson and walk around the room reverently.
