For the fifth Sunday, I'm planning an Article of Faith jeopardy fame for senior primary. (Junior need to review I Know That My Savior Loves Me). We've been singing these once a month for two years, so most senior kids are fairly familiar. I need five categories. So far I have Name That Tune (pianist plays a few notes of the AoF), Draw (children draw a phrase from the Article of Faith while we sing, like pictionary), Names and Numbers (ie: how many gifts are listed in the 7th article of faith?), and Sing a Song (one person, class, or all boys/girls sing a specific song). I'd really like one more. Any ideas? Thought I'd divide the group into girls vs. boys and each question will have a value of 100-500, with harder questions worth more.

Wow! Sounds awesome! What about doing a recitation type category where they actually state an AoF or maybe a fill in the blank category....show an article of faith written out with a blank or two in it? I guess it's not super music related...but it's an idea.

Oh, and by the way, if you are willing to share, I would love to have a copy of that game!

Thanks for the suggestion! I'm sorry it took so long for me to check back. I'll post a copy of the questions within the week. Some of my computer files are in limbo- my husband is "reconfiguring" everything. It really was fun- and it took two full class periods.

Okay- here's what I came up with for the Article of Faith jeopardy. The questions are listed from easiest to hardest. I just printed 100, 200, 300, 400, etc. horizontally on sheets of paper and had the questions taped to the back. Then, we sang the Article of Faith. On Name That Tune- only the pianist had the copy with the number of the Article of Faith on it. If I were doing it again- just make three levels of questions 1, 2, and 3 hundred. Five was too many.
Articles of Faith
Name that Tune Play Article of Faith #2 Play Article of Faith #13 Play Article of Faith #1 Play Article of Faith #9 (first line only) Play Article of Faith #5 (first line only)
Sing a Song Sing any Article of Faith with your class Sing Article of Faith #6, 7 OR 8 with your class Sing Article of Faith #12 with your class Sing Article of Faith #4 by yourself Sing Article of Faith #13 by yourself
What’s that Mean? What does translated mean? #8 What does administer mean? #5 What is a magistrate? #12 What’s a transgression? Sing #2 How do you pronounce “paradisiacal”? #10
Trivia Who Wrote the Articles of Faith?#9 Which Article of Faith does not begin with “We Believe?”#11 The 13th Article of Faith says that we must follow the admonition of whom? #13 Which is the shortest article of Faith? #2 How many words are in the fifth article of faith? #5 (35)
Names and Numbers Which Article of Faith talks about the atonement of Christ? #3 How many first principles and ordinances of the gospel are there? #4 How many tribes are mentioned in the tenth article of faith? #10 Which article of Faith mentions the Primitive Church? #6 How many gifts are mentioned in the seventh article of faith? #7
Hope this helps someone. I only used this for senior primary, and even then they had some trouble. I randomly picked names alternating boy/girl. The person picking got a chance to get it right, if they missed then the opposite team members in their class got a chance, if they missed then it went to the other team members on the other half of the room, then back to the other team members in the whole room. It often got all the way to the whole room. The children did enjoy it and begged to finish the game the next week.
