This was not my original idea, but I wanted it posted on this message board where it is easier to find:
4 corners game could be used to teach or to review. This is how we did it:
1. One child was chosen to be the "number picker" and covered their eyes.
2. The children walked clockwise around to the different corners while singing the song. (if learning, the piano just plays)
3. The piano would stop randomly and then everyone was to WALK to the nearest corner. (anyone running would have to sit out for a round or two)
4. If the "number picker" chose corner #2, the kids in that corner had to either sing a verse (as review) or sing one of the lines of the song. For instance, I Lived in Heaven breaks down into 4 lines and when I taught it I would have the chosen corner review the line that needed the most work. This game can go on and on because everyone is moving the entire time and reviewing or learning.
You could even stretch it further by varying the way they walk (tiptoes, ice skating, marching).

That is a great idea! I am going to try it today. Hopefully it goes well.
