(Posted by Julie on Yahoo Group) If any on you have the uno attack game you can cut cardstock to the same size as the uno cards and then cover them w/ contact paper. Use a wet or dry erase pen to write the songs that you want to sing/review. You will need a lot of cards (20??). (you could even write down the song with a specific verse so that you are not singing 20 different songs, but 5 different songs with 4 different verses, kwim?) Go from child to child and each one gets to push the button. Eventually (approximately every 3rd child) several cards will spit out and the child gets to choose which song to sing. The children had tons of fun. So did I

Do you know if it will work if the cards are laminated versus using contact paper. This looks like a real fun idea. My kids love the game uno attack so I'm sure the primary will like it the same.

I love, love, love this idea!
Someone was wondering if it would work with laminated cards, instead of contact paper. I put the game together today for a sub to use next week. They do work, however, my machine spits out anywhere from 6-9 cards at a time. That's a lot of spitting! I'm either going to make a new set, or keep putting the unchosen cards back in the machine. I just worry that some children won't be able to make a quick song choice when they have nine songs to choose from.
Thanks again for the idea!

Yea, mine did that too and it had contact paper on it. Nature of the beast! What if you put some blank ones in there? It could still spit out 6 or 7 but then only 3 of them would have words on them? Or you could just mix the Uno cards right in too.
Have fun

I don't have the Uno Attack 'game' but I think the idea can still be used. I have my plan for tomorrow and it doesn't include Uno Attack, but here are some other 'rules' to keep in mind when I use UNO cards.
From Yahoo group (sorry, don't know author. That's what I get when I have to sort through so many emails)
"I didn't make any new cards. I just used the Uno cards. We reviewed 2 songs, with 3 verses each. These are the cards I used:
1,2,and 3 = For each of the 3 verses Reverse Card = Switch songs Skip card = Kids got to switch places with their leaders. Only leaders had to sing. (They loved this one)
In future I'll use the wild card to let them choose their own song. This time I wanted to review the songs that we have been working on. Yes, I took the rest of the cards out. I just didn't have time to make cards, so I had to make do with what we had, and it worked out great!"
