I was just called as the Primary chorister for the ward we moved into 2 weeks ago. I haven't got a musical bone in my body, but I am a teacher and I do know how to make visuals and keep kids engaged. It is a very small ward (maybe 50 people at church yesterday), and I was told that most of the primary kids come on their own, as their parents are less-active. So, for starters, I have no idea what songs they know. I also am having a hard time finding information on lds.org about which songs the Primary should be working on in September. I thought they set a schedule, but maybe I thought wrong. I am not intimidated by the calling, and am actually rather excited about it. I just need to know which songs I should be working on this month, and where to find that list, as well as which songs have been worked on thus far this year. They want me to start next week, and I was helping in the nursery when they pulled me out to ask me about the calling. I have no idea who the Primary president is, and we don't have a ward list yet because we have only been here 2 weeks (3 Sundays), and last week was Stake Conference. Any leads on where to find the correct information would be greatly appreciated, as I work FT and have a limited amount of time to gather resources during the week.
Thanks so much!

Congrats on your new calling-you will love it! The 2011 Outline for Sharing Time lists the songs that should be taught each week, but by September, we should have learned all of the songs for the Sac Mtg. Program. It might be fun to play a getting to know you game where you share something about yourself, then draw a name to sing that childs favorite primary song, and tell them they can't choose the same song twice. That way you will see what songs they know and like.
