If you are really dedicated to reading everything new (and liked going through all the emails) then this info might be helpful to you. Maybe you already know it, but maybe not...
First, you need to log in. There is no reason not to. If you are a 'guest' I don't know if this will work for you. So, log in. Go ahead. It will be good for you.
Then bookmark the site after you have logged in, and each time you come back you won't have to type in your username etc, etc.
Now, if you want to read each post, you will see little dots at the left of each subject. From what I can tell, if the dot is BLUE it means that somewhere in that subject there are unread threads.
Click into that subject, and next to each new thread will be the word "New." And then you know which threads have new posts to read!
(I think that word "New" also means 'unread', so it won't be a totally new thread, but will have new posts in it since you last read. Not totally sure...still experimenting myself.)

Thank you for posting this!! I had forgotten that people would need to log in to the site to use the "blue dot" feature!
This is all pretty new to me too, so helpful comments like this from group members are most welcome!!

You're welcome. And since you posted below me, I was able to confirm that the "New" button next to a thread simply means there are new posts in it. The cool thing is, if you click on the "New" button, it will take you to the newest post IN that thread.
So for instance, if the thread talking about "How Firm a Foundation" had 15 posts, and the next time you come back to the board it has 40, you don't have to start at the beginning of the thread. Just click on the "New" button and it should take you to post #16.
So "missing a post/email" is really not a valid excuse, in my opinion. This forum set up just means that it is easier and cleaner to read what you want to!!!

Okay, now you're my hero of the day. I have not been able to find the "go to first unread message" button and figured this (free) message board format didn't have one. Thank you for figuring that part out for me!!
Hooray for team efforts!

I belong to another forum much like this one. Somehow I was able to set it up so that I get a "daily digest" e-mail letting me know what new threads there were as well as those that had been updated. Does anyone know how to do that on here? Or if it's just not an option? Thanks! -Erica

-Erica Erica, I don't think this basic board has that option. I could be wrong, though. Go up to the top menu board, and click on your profile. There are some options there....one of them is about a mass email, but I don't think that's the same thing as a daily digest. I currently have mine turned "on" to mass email, and I've never gotten an email. I think that is in case the board 'owner' needs to email all members or something. Sorry!
