As a 26-year-old mother of two, I had not yet been given a calling in Primary. So when I found out that I was being released from YW, I thought, "Maybe I'll be a Primary teacher." You can imagine my surprise when a member of the bishopric called me to be the Primary chorister.
I had not been in Primary since I was 11 years old. I didn't know the names of the younger children in our ward; I didn't know what songs they had learned; I didn't know what the Primary schedule would be like; I didn't know half the songs that we had to sing for the program in less than two months after I was called. Needless to say, I was a bit terrified and overwhelmed.
But with the help of the former chorister, a loving husband, the Primary presidency, some incredible Web sites and the Holy Ghost, I survived the program. Now that we're working on a whole new year and a whole new program, I must say that I am absolutely in love with this calling.

Welcome Andrea! Right now I'm working in YW and while I am loving it there, I sometimes really miss Primary music. It's the one calling that over and over I hear people say is "the best calling in the church." I haven't heard that yet for YW 1st Counselor.
