My Senior Primary boys don't know how to sing at the proper pitch. They think that because they are boys they should sing lower than me. Having not hit puberty, however, they should be singing up high.
I can't convince them to sing at pitch, because they see it as unmanly, or something.
Any ideas how to get them to realize that their voices are not ready to drop the octave?

This is tricky. The primary songs are high and even my 5yr old son has a hard time singing some of the high notes. My sr. primary boys will try to sing anything if I turn it into a little competition between the two sides of the room to hear which side, or class sings the loudest (with out yelling). They belt it out every time. Also, it might be good to bring in a CD of the group Primary Colors. Those guys can hit some high notes plus they sound cool. Good luck.
